2015/16 Budget Information forums

A message from President Mark Evered:

I invite all members of the UFV community to attend one of two forums for a presentation on the 2015/16 Budget preliminary position and environmental scan. This will be an opportunity to understand the budget process, the key drivers to building the budget, and the principles that guide budget decisions.

The 2015-16 budget planning process is underway. The current BC government message remains focused on cost containment, fiscal discipline, and balanced budgets. Provincial funding to the post-secondary sector is in the midst of a $50 million reduction over three years with $25 million apportioned to 2015/16, the third year of reductions. At the same time, the cost of delivering high quality post-secondary education continues to rise.
