The City of Abbotsford is hosting a regional forum on Housing Best Practices at the UFV Abbotsford campus.

The forum will include:

Housing First Best Practices Forum and World Café Dialogue
Panellists will share their best practices for a community response to housing people experiencing homeless.
Topics include: wrap around support, intensive case management and the role of shelters & outreach in the housing first approach.

Collective Impact
A framework a community may use when tackling a complex, challenging social issue such as homelessness. A shared vision for change, shared goals and outcomes for community decision making are among the topics that will be discussed in this presentation.

Integral Strategy Roadmap
“Imagine a desired future and develop a roadmap to get there”.
This presentation will introduce a workshop series that will be offered later this fall. The outcome of the workshop series will be a detailed visualization of the Homelessness in Abbotsford Action Plan.

- Look Out Society- Shelter Provider (focus on how to operate a supported shelter with a focus to transition individuals to Permanent Housing Placement through a Housing First approach)
World Café Dialogue: 11 am–12 pm

Regional Mayor’s Table additional break out room: 11 am – 1:15 pm
FVRD and neighbouring Metro Vancouver Mayors and Council to be invited to participate in a Mayor’s roundtable about homelessness issues and potential collective impact solutions.
