VA 395 student have been partnered with community members living with dementia to form collaborations wherein student share what they’ve learn about socially engaged art practice. Our community partners imparted knowledge from their lived experiences, including experiences that concern living with dementia.
The class collectively explored the following questions – Where can knowledge be rooted and how can it be creatively exchanged across perceived barriers with humility and joy?
The resulting work is highly experimental, playful, engaging, and often interactive.
Please stop by the S’eliyemetaswtexw Art Gallery between April 3-11 to experience the valuable intergenerational knowledge exchange.
Exhibition reception will be held on April 6 from 3-5pm.
