Geography’s inaugural Discovery Lecture for 2015-16 is presented by Jeff Kenworthy, Professor in Sustainable Cities, Curtin University, Perth Australia. Prof. Kenworthy is also guest Professor with Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences.
His lecture will focus on the global resurgence of urban and regional rail. It highlights some of the benefits that cities derive through developing a strong structural backbone of urban rail. The lecture will include application to the local area, including Abbotsford and Chilliwack. Should urban rail have a future role in tying our area into the Vancouver region?
The lecture will be presented on Thursday 24 September in A413, 2:30-3:30 pm.
