Time: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
In this reading group we will be conducting a slow and exegetical, piece by piece reading of Nietzsche’s ‘The Gay Science’. This event is open to all UFV students and faculty with an interest in Nietzsche. However, it is intended primarily for Philosophy students. Particularly upper level students.
This group is intended to be an engagement with Nietzsche’s texts with discussion. No previous engagement with Nietzsche or Philosophy is required however it can be helpful. Also, no outside reading is required. We will be reading the works together.
In this group we will primarily be working out of the Cambridge version. You may bring other translations to utilize as well but for consistency please utilize at least one of these two versions. PDFs are available if needed.
We will also have a copy on hand of the Kaufman translation to use as-well and to compare and contrast.
Please email PhilUFV@gmail.com for the Zoom link.
