Why Orange Shirts
Many people have now heard about the Indian Residential Schools. Few of us have heard the stories of what it was like to attend an Indian Residential School. Phyllis’ story provides us an opportunity learn and talk about what it was like. Those who learn about these schools agree “it’s not something that should be forgotten”.
Orange Shirt Day is also an opportunity for First Nations, local governments, schools and communities to come together in the spirit of reconciliation and hope for generations of children to come.
