Peace and Conflict Studies Student Seminar
You are invited to join an online seminar on Friday, December 4 (12:00-1:30) that will feature the work of two students who are completing their BA degree in Peace and Conflict Studies at UFV.
Samantha Smith will be presenting her work in the PACS 390 directed readings course. The title of her final course project and of her presentation is: “The More I Know the Less I Understand: The Enduring Conflict of the Eurocentric model of Education and the Indigenous Peoples of Canada.” Samantha has also completed the course work for the PACS 400 course, and she will also be presenting on the course project during the seminar. The title of this project is: “The Cause of the Over Incarceration of African Americans in the US Prison System with Practical Peacebuilding Solutions.”
Isaac Halas will be presenting on his field work experience in the PACS 391 course, which he did at Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association. Isaac has completed the PACS 400 course, and has presented his findings in a seminar earlier this year. Both Isaac and Samantha have completed all of the requirements for the PACS major in the BA degree program. These seminar presentations are the final tasks for completion of their respective BA degrees at UFV.
