Time: All Day
Pink Shirt day is Feb 25
Bullying is a major problem in our schools, workplaces, homes, and over the Internet.
On Feb 25 UFV encourages everyone to wear something pink to symbolize that we as a community will not tolerate bullying anywhere.
Join UFV’s community partner Coast Capital to stand up against bullying. For the third year in a row, they are a presenting partner of the province-wide anti-bulling initiative, Pink Shirt Day.
The event itself, that originated in 2007 when two Nova Scotia boys and a group of friends wore pink shirts to stick up for another boy who was being bullied, takes place on February 25. Get your official t-shirt and stand alongside us as we turn the province pink on the 25th.
In the lead up to the main event, Coast Capital launched the inaugural #PinkItForward social media campaign. We are hoping that you will help us promote positivity by pinking it forward (#PinkItForward) to colleagues, family and friends in the coming days.
Here’s how it works:
- Share something you appreciate, admire or find unique about your friends or loved ones on social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) include a photo and make sure to tag that friend.
- Use the campaign hashtag #PinkItForward
- Coast Capital Savings will then donate $1* to the CKNW Orphans’ Fund in support of Pink Shirt Day and anti-bullying programs for youth across Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the Island.
- This is your chance to brag about your awesome colleague, your mom, your sibling, heck, even your pet, and give back to your community in one fell swoop.
*Up a maximum of $45,000
