This event will discuss refugee and migration issues in the Fraser Valley and abroad, examining their structural causes and discussing their personal effects. Tima Kurdi will be joining us to discuss the story of her family and bring a call to action. We will be hearing as well from Ron Dart, to discuss his experience with refugee relocation and the structural issues of mass migration; Bibi Dilmahomed, who works for ACS and headed up the Syrian Refugee Resettlement project in the winter of 2015 here in Abbotsford; and Tanya Vanpraseuth, a UFV Student and second generation refugee who will be telling her parents stories and where they are today.
The event will take place from 3:00-5:00pm on October 10th in Evered Hall.
