An Alumni Expert Speaker Panel Presentation
Resilience: Lessons Learned from Avian Influenza in the Fraser Valley
The Fraser Valley poultry industry is unique in many ways. Most farms are family farms, the concentration of farms in the valley is very high and urban encroachment is increasing. Finally, there have been several well publicized outbreaks of Avian Flu over the past 12 years.
This panel explores how the industry has evolved in its response to this disease and the wider scale impacts of disease outbreaks on producers, their families, and farming communities. Join faculty host Renee Prasad and guest panelists at an evening open to students, alumni, faculty and the public.
