ShakeOut Drill 2020
The ShakeOut BC earthquake drill takes place at 10:15am on Thursday, October 15 and UFV will be participating. This emergency skill should be practiced in a COVID-safe way wherever you are, offsite or on campus.
During ShakeOut, UFV will announce the drill on the public address systems on the Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses. In addition, UFV Alert, the University’s emergency notification system, will be activated. You will receive a text on your mobile phone provided you have registered at any time with UFV Alert. Please ensure your registered cell number and email address are up-to-date by checking here, or you can register for the first time here.
During ShakeOut participants should:
- Drop to the ground
- Cover under a table or desk
- Hold On for 60 seconds
UFV campuses will not be evacuated during the drill.
