Time: All Day
Teaching and Learning is offering its first Facilitating Learning Online (FLO) workshop, all online through Blackboard, beginning June 1st, 2015 and running for four weeks. This workshop will enhance skills needed to effectively facilitate online learning. In this session you will:
– facilitate, or co-facilitate, a learning activity on a pre-assigned topic;
– integrate adult and online learning theories and principles into facilitation;
– explore a variety of learning/facilitation techniques and strategies;
– give and receive constructive feedback;
– work in online teams; and
– reflect on, and plan how to apply, what you have learned to your online courses and contexts.
This online workshop will focus on participatory and learner-centred principles. Like the Instructional Skills Workshops (ISWs), it is feedback rich, and encompasses reflective practice in a safe and respectful learning environment. You will be required to do approximately 6 hours of work per week during this workshop.
Teaching and Learning is submitting the workshop for ISW recognition, to ensure participants receive certification.
Space is limited, so we encourage you to register as soon as possible.To register, email TLCevents@ufv.ca.
