International Women’s Day (IWD) takes place every year on March 8th to recognize the importance of gender equality and to acknowledge and address historical and enduring inequalities.
To mark IWD 2022, the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV)’s Global Development Studies (GDS) program and the School for Social Justice and Global Stewardship (SoJust) will host a virtual panel event focusing on the need to apply a gender and intersectional lens to the impacts of climate change and climate action.
Attendees will register through Eventbrite to gain access to the event which will be held on Zoom. The panel will feature two panellists: Jennifer Hong and Margaret Tuhumwire. The event will be moderated by UFV student, Zain Zaidi, and UFV alum, Alicia Dyck.
