Workshop: The Significance of Interfaith Engagement in Peacebuilding:
From Global Cases to the Fraser Valley
In the midst of stories of violent inter-religious conflict and terrorism, stories of hopeful proactive peacebuilding sometimes go untold. In Indonesia, local Mennonites actively engage across religious differences to build bridges of relationships and common purpose to reduce violence. In this interactive workshop, Dan and Jeanne Jantzi, MCC Area Directors for Southeast Asia, will tell stories of interfaith peace work in Central Java, invite discussion, and guide reflection on the peacebuilding potential of interfaith engagement in the world, with particular focus on the context of the Fraser Valley.
Everyone is welcome to attend this presentation and conversation.
