Community of Practice: Assessment in Post Secondary Education

Date(s): Friday, January 27 8:30 am - 10:00 am

Teaching and Learning is offering a Community of Practice: Assessment in Post-Secondary Education series through the winter 2023 semester facilitated by Claire Hay, Teaching and Learning Specialist (Curriculum and Assessment).

The goal of this community of practice is to explore current ideas around assessment strategies by engaging in evidence-based discussions and the sharing of our assessment practices.  The topics we cover will be determined by participants but may include assessment design, Indigenizing assessments, grading practices, disciplinary considerations in assessment, assessment as, for and of learning, or other topics.  Monthly meetings are anticipated with the obligation of reading a short article or discussion paper prior to our meetings and being willing to share your assessment ideas and examples with the group during our sessions.  A Teams channel will be created to effectively share resources among the group while sessions will take place in Zoom.

The initial meeting for the Community of Practice will take place on Friday January 27th from 8.30-10.00 via Zoom.

If you are interested in joining us, please email Claire at claire.hay@ufv.ca.
