This workshop will incorporate three workshops, join one or all.

  1.  Making Online Courses in Blackboard Easy to Navigate (1:30pm – 2:00pm)
Let’s look at your course from a student’s perspective and see how we can best lay out your course so students can intuitively roll through it like they would flip through a good book.  We’ll explore the structure of the course and how hyperlinks, embedding media and redundancy can allow students to access your activities and resources quickly and easily.
  2. 5 Doable Ways to Make Your Blackboard Course Mobile Friendly (2:00pm-2:30pm)
Seventy percent of online learners in a recent survey reported improved motivation to learn when they were able to use their mobile devices to navigate the course successfully. Seventy two percent reported increased engagement with mobile learning. We can’t miss this opportunity.Make sure your online or hybrid courses are as mobile friendly as possible within Blackboard Learn. This course will give you 5 totally adaptable tips to help your course go mobile.
  3. Spark Up Your Discussion Board (2:30pm – 3:00pm)
This workshop explores ways we can make our Blackboard discussion boards even more engaging for students by using some handy tools that we already use, such as Kaltura video.  Walk out with ready-to-apply tools and strategies that will enhance the all-important learning community you build in your Blackboard discussion forums.  Participants will discover how to add video and images to a Blackboard discussion forum, and analyze inviting inquiry strategies for online discourse.
