 iyemetaxwtexw Art Gallery will be showcasing part two of three from our se
 ries of BFA Grad Exhibitions\, featuring Albert Woods\, Kimberly Vandenber
 g and Candice McPherson from October 14 - November 4\, 2020.\n\nAlbert Woo
 ds\, Anthropos Morphos series\, mixed media\, 2020. This installation addr
 esses communities' unwitting participation in the broken systems that bene
 fit government and corporate entities who place financial gains over indiv
 iduals' basic rights and freedoms.\n\nKimberly Vandenberg\, Return Passage
  to Equilibrium\, acrylic on canvas\, 2020. This painting series explores 
 themes of colonization\, loss\, and resilience. Each painting is connected
  to the stories and memories of missing and murdered Indigenous women and 
 girls.\n\nCandace McPherson\, These Images are Inspired by True Events\, d
 igital print on aluminum\, 2020. Paintings from the Pre-Raphaelite era tha
 t are based on literature and folklore portray women with passive gazes an
 d sensuous figures\, bringing attention solely to their youth and beauty. 
 The female characters depicted in the photographs represent a modern woman
  who is devoid of the pre-set beauty standards commonly seen within painti
 ngs of this era.\n\nWhat to know before you visit:\n\nSince reopening\, pr
 ocedures have been put in place to ensure that the S'eliyemetaxwtexw Art G
 allery is safe and ready to welcome visitors.\n\n 	Wear a mask\, face shie
 ld or face covering (mandatory\, effective September 1\, 2020).\n 	At this
  time\, we are only allowing a maximum of three people in the gallery at a
  time.\n 	Please keep two (2) metres (6 feet) apart.\n 	Do NOT touch any o
 f the artworks.\n 	Do not visit if you are feeling unwell.\n 	Gallery Hrs:
