 Trevor Embury at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) for our inaugur
 al public seminar series\, Counterforms: Practices\, Theories\, and Method
 s. Explore the complexities of design across its various modalities\, from
  practice and activism to discipline and ways of knowing\, and beyond.\n\n
 Throughout this series\, participants will engage with Dr. Katherine Gilli
 eson (September 25) and Dr. Bonne Zabolotney (October 9) from Emily Carr U
 niversity\, who challenge conventional notions and highlight the often hid
 den\, complex dimensions of design. Each session promises to broaden horiz
 ons and provoke critical thinking\, examining design as a catalyst for com
 munity building\, pushing boundaries\, and driving social change\, as well
  as a disciplined practice grounded in theory and exploration.\n\nParticip
 ants will explore design as a field of study\, unravelling its historical 
 foundations and contemporary challenges\, and understanding design as an a
 ct of reconfiguration—shaping experiences\, interactions\, and meaning.\
