Delivering Constructive Criticism
“If you can/t think of something nice to say… “ Most of us sense the tension if we have critical feedback we want to deliver to someone else. Many of us avoid it, choosing “…don’t say anything at all.” But what happens if some things really need to be said, even if not very “nice?” When we either avoid feedback discussions or put things in a way that makes others defensive, we block raising awareness and providing helpful opportunities for growth. In this engaging and dynamic session, we’ll examine the skill of framing, or how we say what we want to say. Participants will leave with counter-intuitive insights and practical tools they can use right away. You’ll discover how to: “If you can’t think of something nice to say, find a nice way to say it!”
