Prior to joining GM R&\;D\, he was a full professor in the departme nt of Computer Science &\; Engineering at Indian Institute of Technolog y (IIT) Bombay\, India where he co-founded a Centre for Formal Design and Verification of Software. He has published more than 125 research papers i n International Journals &\; Conferences and is an author of more than 25 patents in the areas of modeling\, analysis and verification of embedde d systems and software. He has been on the program committees of several i nternational research conferences and on the editorial boards of journals.
