Join us for a Meet & Greet with Leanne Joe!
The Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) is excited to welcome Leanne Joe as an Indigenous Curriculum Developer! Leanne’s passion is in sharing language and culture as it connects to curriculum through land-based learning.
Leanne is an alumni of the Bachelor of General Studies program with a Global Indigenous Geography theme at UFV. In 2019, she received the Lieutenant Governor’s medal upon graduation, for her approach to encouraging inclusion of Indigenous people’s perspectives and reconciliation, and her commitment to empowering Indigenous communities. Leanne also received the British Columbia Teacher’s Federation Maxwell A. Cameron Memorial Award in 2022 as student in the UFV Secondary Teacher Education program.
Come join us for an hour at the Meet & Greet to learn more about Leanne and to welcome her to the TLC team. Bring your appetite – light snacks and beverages will be provided!
