 _____________\nDr. Tamara Taggart\nTamara Taggart is a community leader\, 
 activist\, veteran broadcaster\, cancer survivor\, mother\, and former can
 didate in the 2019 Canadian election.\nBorn and raised in Vancouver\, Tama
 ra is a community leader who advocates for others and raises much-needed f
 unds for many important causes. Throughout her career as a broadcaster on 
 local television\, radio and digital media\, Tamara earned her place as a 
 trusted voice for people in Vancouver. She has focused two decades’ of v
 olunteer efforts on health care and the well-being of children and people 
 with disabilities.\nTamara chaired BC Women's Hospital’s Hope Starts Her
 e campaign\, raising $17 million for the newborn intensive care unit. She 
 also served as chair of the BC Cancer Foundation’s Inspiration Gala for 
 five years\, raising more than $16 million for cancer research and treatme
 nt in British Columbia.\nTamara’s 2014 TED Talk\, “Two Conversations t
 hat Changed My Life”\, struck a chord with medical professionals and uni
 versities around the world\, by reframing the way healthcare practitioners
  communicate hope.\nIn 2015 Tamara was awarded the Order of BC—the highe
 st honour awarded by the Government of British Columbia—in recognition o
 f her years of public service. She also received an Honorary Doctorate of 
 Laws from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2016.\nTamara and her hus
 band Dave have three children—son Beckett and daughters Zoë and Poppy. 
 They also share their home with George their Airedale Terrier\, Penelope t
 heir rescue dog from Mexico\, and rescue cats Broccoli and Brussel Sprout.
 \n\nKate Horsman\nKate Horsman is a Counsellor\, Nutritionist and Mindfuln
 ess Leader in Vancouver BC. Her training through both professional counsel
 ling and nutrition\, provide the bridge between the mind-body connection w
 hich lends greatly to her specialization in Eating Disorders and Mental Il
 lness. As a holistic counsellor\, Kate utilizes tools of all mediums\, tow
 ards the possibility for change.\n\nKate’s education is both local and a
 broad. From CSNN to eCornell and\, most importantly\, the school of life! 
 She credits a diverse experience that has lead her to a depth of understan
 ding\, that engages clients in creative and meaningful change through food
 \, mind and compassion.\n\nKate continues to work in her Private Practice 
 in Vancouver with her one on one clients\, while also working with organiz
 ations such as lululemon\, Aritzia\, Microsoft and more on their mental he
 alth\, wellness and mindfulness programs. Non for profit work is a priorit
 y in Kate’s life\, and as such she spends countless hours with organizat
 ions such as Face of Today\, as a way to assist in a greater reach of help
  for all in need.\nDr. Shahana Alibhai\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMedicine was never the
  plan for Dr. Shahana Alibhai. She discovered her passion at age 15 when s
 he went to her first fitness class. She became a BCRPA certified fitness i
 nstructor at age 17 and has enjoyed teaching a variety of group exercise c
 lasses ever since. Coupled by her love for cooking\, by the age of 16\, Dr
 . Shahana had also appeared on a number of cooking shows\, demonstrating h
 er ability to create innovative nutritious meals that highlighted her cult
 ural background.\n\nWith the determination that an integrative approach to
  medicine is truly the future\, Dr. Shahana went on to complete her underg
 raduate degree in Kinesiology followed by her medical degree\, both from t
 he University of British Columbia. She completed a 2 year residency in Fam
 ily Medicine which took her back home to Abbotsford BC.\n\nNow as a family
  physician and the mother of three young boys (aged 4\, 2 and 2 months)\, 
 Shahana is a staff physician at the Abbotsford Youth Health Clinic where s
 he works with youth between the ages of 12-24 as well as the Abbotsford Br
 eath Health Clinic located in the Abbotsford Regional Hospital. She was a 
 member of the UBC Family Medicine Residency Faculty for the last 3 years\,
  has served on the BC College of Family Physicians Board and works as an a
 ccreditor for the National College of Family Physicians.\n\nWith training 
 in cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness meditation\, Dr. Shahana 
 endeavours to bring elements of total mind and body health through her int
 eraction with her patients. She will be delivering a TED talk in Abbotsfor
 d on the subject of creating emotional literacy as a way to combat anxiety
  and depression in our youth.\n\nShe is married to Dr.Khalid Alibhai\, chi
 ropractor and owner of Stuart Chiropractic in Guildford BC.\n\n\n\n\n\n
