 stitute (SASI) selected four lectures and screenings for the South Asian S
 tudies FALL SERIES\n\nA mix of lectures and film screenings from B.C. and 
 beyond!\n\nOctober 22\, 2024\nOnline Lecture by Ms. Karimah Rahman on Deco
 lonial Resistance of a Muslim Indo-Caribbean Woman.\n\nMs. Rahman’s stat
 es that she embodies multiplicity\, nuance\, range in her lived experience
 s at the intersection of being a woman\, Muslim\, Indo-Caribbean\, or Musl
 im Indo-Caribbean\, a descendant of ancestors who were indentured labourer
 s as well as simultaneously a part of the Caribbean\, Indian\, South Asian
  and Muslim diasporas. These are all intersectional positionalities themse
 lves and all of these identities are valid simultaneously (the whole inter
 sectional spectrum\, multiplicity\, nuance\, range of lived experiences et

 Screening: – Unarchived\, The Incomplete History of Marginalized Communi
 ties in British Columbia –\n\nIn this National Film Board documentary\, 
 Hayley Gray and Elad Tzadok survey the inspiring work of a handful of comm
 unity archives across British Columbia. They talk to curators and archivis
 ts from groups traditionally marginalized or excluded communities: Indigen
 ous\, Queer\, Trans\, the Chinese Canadian Museum\, the Tahltan Nation\, t
 he South Asian Legacy Project\, and others. Along the way\, we learn the s
 ecret\, neglected\, and untold histories we only think we know.\n\nLocatio
