DESCRIPTION:\nTake the 2-minute challenge\nBe a part of the continued succe
 ss of the UFV MicroLecture series\nShowcase your research on Tuesday\, Feb
  21. You are invited to provide "snapshots" highlighting the range and dep
 th of your faculty research and the interdisciplinary nature of your work.
 \n\nTake the stage for a maximum of two minutes to share exciting findings
  and implications of your current or completed research projects. More th
 an a dozen topics will be presented in less than one hour. Over twenty fac
 ulty participated last year with topics ranging from “Why and How the Po
 lice Crash Cars” to “Canada’s First Elected Senate”.\n\nIf you wou
 ld like to be a speaker\, contact the Research Advisory Council (RAC) repr

  name\, department\, and the title of your presentation as well as a Facul
 ty MicroLecture Application Form and Photo Release.\n\nApply today! Regist
 ration ends February 14. \nCelebrate your published works\nFollowing the 
 Microlectures event\, the Research\, Engagement\, and Graduate Studies off
 ice is hosting a reception in A225 to showcase faculty accomplishments in 
 publication. If you would like to present your published works\, please em
 ail the following before February 14 to Deborah.block@ufv.ca:\n\n 	A copy 
 of your published piece for display at the event (peer-reviewed journal ar
 ticle\, authored or co-authored book or book chapter\, edited or co-edited
  book\, video\, etc.).  New submissions from 2015-2017 will be accepted.
   For online articles\, please print a hard copy for display.  Submissio
 ns will be returned after the event.  Please include all the information 
 needed for a citation in a bibliography (author(s)\, title\, journal title
 \, publisher\, city\, volume\, date\, URL\, etc.)\n\nAND\n\n 	A PowerPoint
  slide that captures something about your publication. Include your name\,
  department\, your photo\, and title of the publication.  Include an imag
 e related to your publication (e.g.\, book cover\, photo of you on locatio
 n\, etc.).  These can be similar to the ones faculty did for the 2015 pub
 lication event (see ufv.ca/research/events/publication-celebration).  The
  purpose of the slide is to generate discussions and connections.   Be c
 reative!  There is a prize draw for participants and the slides will be p
