DESCRIPTION:Sustainable food systems: East Africa\, Punjab and the Fraser V
 alley\nWill we have enough food for the future?\n\nIncreasing population d
 egraded land resources and declining water supply are increasing the vulne
 rability of global food security. The University of the Fraser Valley in p
 artnership with Aga Khan University East Africa Institute and Panjab Unive
 rsity will be hosting a symposium to discuss sustainable food systems with
 in the Fraser Valley\, East Africa and Punjab\, India.\n\nKeynote speakers
  will be sharing their expertise on sustainable food systems that range fr
 om food distribution\, resource use\, policy and new innovations in produc
 tion. There will be breakout sessions with the experts followed by a publi
 c symposium with international guests.\n\nThe speakers include: \n\n	Alex 
 Awiti from Aga Khan University in Nairobi\, \n	Dhian Kaur and B.S. Ghuman 
 from Panjab University\, \n	James Khuns from Ryerson University\, \n	Lenor
 e Newman (UFV)\, \n	George Imbenzi Kenya Consulate Government and Trade\, 
 \n	Orlando Schmidt (Regional Manager for Coast Region of BC Ministry of Ag
 riculture).\n\nWorkshops will take place from 1-4 PM followed by the Publi
