Time: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Location: : Abbotsford Campus Performance Studio (D105)
UFV Theatre would like to invite all students, faculty and staff to attend the workshop performances of GHOSTING OF SUMAS LAKE which is based on the students’ own experiences of the Sumas Prairie floods of 2021. We have a few scheduled workshop performances on Nov. 24 @ 7pm, Nov. 25 @ 7pm, and Nov. 26 @ 2pm with talk backs that will generate more questions and conversations.
You may book your whole class for one of these shows or you may simply suggest that students attend the performance on their own schedules. You may consider creating a reflective writing assignment, panel discussion, group presentation or otherwise incorporate the show into learning objectives for your course. The performance addresses personal impacts of local and global floods, intercultural issues, the global climate crises, and topics such as intergenerational trauma and resilience in an immersive and surreal way.
Please be advised that early registration via Eventbrite is encouraged as seating will be extremely limited.
Ticket registration ends 2 hours before the performance start times.
All performances will be held in the Performance Studio, Building D, 105, Abbotsford Campus, University of the Fraser Valley, 33844 King Road.
