Celebrate Learning – Indigenization

Date(s): Tuesday, May 3 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

TLC is hosting two events to Celebrate Learning at UFV:

The Celebrate Learning – Indigenization event on May 3rd includes concepts related to decolonization, Indigenization, and Reconciliation efforts occurring at UFV. These can be demonstrated through relationship-building, infusing Indigenous worldviews and/or Indigenous Ways of Knowing and being into the classroom.

And the second annual Celebrate Learning at UFV event which will be held May 4th . This event which will recognize and celebrate adaptability, ingenuity, and dedication to students’ learning.

The goal of both events is to provide an opportunity for faculty to share aspects of their course with their colleagues. By the end of the event, participants will have new knowledge, strategies, and awareness of what their peers have accomplished over the past year.

Celebrate Learning – Indigenization    May 3, 2022 (12:00-2:00 pm)

The Teaching and Learning Centre in partnership with the Office of the Provost is hosting the second annual Celebrate Learning (new name) event.

During the inaugural event last year, we heard some amazing stories from faculty who are doing some great Indigenization work and we thought it would be great to capture these stories at a separate event call Celebrate Learning – Indigenization.

Celebrating Great Learning (now Celebrate Learning) event is designed to recognize adaptability, ingenuity, and dedication to students’ learning in the classroom or online. The Celebrate Learning – Indigenization event includes those components but includes concepts related to decolonization, Indigenization, and Reconciliation efforts occurring at UFV. These can be demonstrated through relationship-building, infusing Indigenous worldviews and/or Indigenous Ways of Knowing and being into the classroom. The goal of this event is to provide an opportunity for faculty to briefly share one Indigenization aspect of their student’s learning with their colleagues. After the presentations, participants will have a chance to ask questions for further learning about what worked well for students and faculty this past year.

Celebrate Learning – at UFV   May 4, 2022 (12:00-2:00 pm)

This event, organized by the Teaching and Learning Centre in partnership with the Office of the Provost, recognizes and celebrates your adaptability, ingenuity, and dedication to students’ learning.

The goal of this event is to provide an opportunity for you to briefly share one aspect of your course with your colleagues. By the end of the event, participants will have new ideas, strategies, and awareness of what their peers have done to support student’s learning in the past year.
