Aging and Society: Increasing Understanding — Improving Quality of Life
Persenters: Darren Blakeborough, Lesley Jessiman, Andrea Hughes, and Shelley Canning
The Centre for Education and Research on Aging (CERA) has a multi-disciplinary membership and a breadth of research and teaching expertise and experiences related to the experience of ageing. Currently our research includes studies exploring: memory in young and old participants comparing First Nations and Caucasian populations; older adults’ use of “new media” technology; and looking at ageist attitudes and the impact they have on conversational interactions. We are excited to share and engage in a discussion related to our current research, highlighting the importance of increased understanding of the challenges and issues of ageing within the reality of our rapidly increasing demographic of older adults.
As always — a heartfelt thank you to the College of Arts and the Research Office for their support of this initiative.
