Planning Ahead: Navigating Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Representation & Executor Roles
This seminar is for anyone who is supporting aging parents or anticipate being asked to step into a decision-making role. Senior living advisor Stephanie Chan will guide you through the practical realities of being a Power of Attorney, Healthcare Representative, and Executor of a will. We’ll explore what it really means to be named as someone’s substitute decision maker or executor, the responsibilities involved, and the challenges families often face when plans are unclear or made too late.
You’ll learn how your parents can thoughtfully choose the right people for these roles, how to have proactive and respectful conversations before a crisis arises, and what to do if there is no obvious or appropriate family member to step in. We’ll also discuss how adult children can prepare themselves—emotionally and practically—to carry out these responsibilities with confidence, clarity, and compassion.
