In Common Speakers’ Series: Fascism, Faith, and the Awkward Art of Being Neighbours
Hosted by the Peace and Reconciliation Centre (PARC), the In Common Speakers’ Series creates space for open, respectful dialogue across diverse religious, spiritual, and philosophical traditions. Each event brings together two guest speakers for a moderated conversation exploring a shared theme through different faith perspectives.
This November, Fascism, Faith, and the Awkward Art of Being Neighbours welcomes Gen Kelsang Sanden (Buddhist) and Katherine Murray (Anglican) for a discussion on belonging, fear, and moral courage in the face of division.
Drawing inspiration from Jason Stanley’s How Fascism Works, this conversation explores how faith can help us recognize and resist the forces that divide us and how compassion, mindfulness, and moral responsibility can guide us toward more just and generous ways of living with one another.
Open to the entire UFV community and free of charge, In Common welcomes all who wish to listen, learn, and engage with curiosity.
