Gentle Hatha Yoga II
In this session we will practice Gentle Hatha Yoga together once more, only this time from a standing position. Participants will be able to choose to adapt postures from a chair if preferred or needed. The relationship between movement meditation practices and overall health and wellbeing will be explored. There will be time to ask questions and learn more about the experience through sharing and dialogue.
Tuesday, November 16 12 – 1 PM
Christine is the Department Head for Child, Youth and Family Studies at UFV and has been using different forms of mindfulness and meditation in a career that spans over 4 decades as a psychiatric nurse, child and youth care counsellor, child life specialist and now as an associate professor teaching stress reduction to university students. Meditation offers a way to navigate the experience of stress, anxiety, pain and difficult moments in life. Building a practice of mindful meditation can help us be more resilient and find a greater sense of contentment in our lives, no matter how challenging it may seem. If you are interested in learning more about meditation, this series will offer the basics to explore a practice that can contribute to your overall health and wellbeing.
Please note that this event is for UFV employee fitness challenge participants only. To register for this event, please e-mail Kathryn.Wingerak@ufv.ca to receive the Zoom link.
