Unfold Your Potential
Unfold your potential and learn the Japanese art of paper folding also known as “origami”.
This event will teach participants how to create a crane through the patterned technique of folding a square piece of paper.
Crafting is an outlet for creativity and contributes to our wellness as it requires attentiveness, focus, and patience. It also acts as a form of stress-release.
Origami cranes specifically symbolize hope, peace, wellness, and recovery.
The crafts popularization is due to the story of a young girl, Sadako Sasaki, who was victim of the Hiroshima bombing.
She had spent her time in the hospital folding 1000 paper cranes, making the art symbolic to peace.
We are inviting you to this event with the hope to teach a skill that can be beneficial to your wellness alongside sharing culture and its history.
