Call for Nominations to serve on the UFV Senate and UFV Board of Governors

The Secretariat office is calling for nominations for a seven (7) faculty positions on Senate and one faculty and one staff position on the UFV Board of Governors, for a three-year term beginning August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2028.

BOARD OF GOVERNORS
The management, administration, and control of the property, revenue, business, and affairs of the University are vested in the Board. For further information on Board membership and its responsibilities, please view the Board bylaws, at ufv.ca/board/board-bylaws.
Positions:
• 1 faculty member
• 1 staff member

If you are interested in being a faculty member or staff member on the Board of Governors, please complete the nomination form, available on the Secretariat website before the deadline of February 2, 2025 at 4:00 pm. Late nominations will not be accepted. If more than one nomination is received for a position, an election will follow.

Senate is the senior academic governing body at UFV. Its main roles are to set policies and procedures concerning educational matters, and to act as an advisor to inform decisions made by the University Board. The Senate typically meets once each month at 1:30 pm on Friday of the third week in the UFV meeting schedule.. Senate members are expected to represent the Senate on at least two Senate standing committee.

One faculty member for each of the following faculties:
-Applied and Technical Studies
-Business and Computing
-Education, Community and Human Development
-Health Sciences
-Humanities
-Science
-Social Sciences
