Introducing Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL).
COIL is an approach to teaching where two or more faculty members from different universities collaboratively develop project to be completed by students in both their classes. Students work together virtually to explore driving questions related to the course material and gain valuable teamwork skills and interdisciplinary and intercultural perspectives on the issues facing our world. Come learn how UFV is supporting COIL and how you could get involved.
If you’re working on COIL already, consider attending to share your experiences with the community.
Wondering what COIL is? Check out a few of these resources:
- Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). Intro video (3 minutes)
- The Guide to COIL Virtual Exchange (2023). E-book available at UFV Library.
- COIL Course Design Principles. Video (37 minutes).
Chat-I will take place via Zoom on select Wednesdays.
Join Victoria Surtees to discuss topics related to internationalization with an interdisciplinary group of colleagues. From international student experience to study abroad, we will go where community interests take us and hear from guest experts and speakers throughout the year.
Each session covers a different topic – come once or come regularly!
