A hands-on workshop series focused on building foundational AI literacy, strengthening prompting skills, and applying AI effectively in your workflow. The workshops are scaffolded but can be taken separately if you have a good grasp of the basics.

Requirements: Laptop plus a free OpenAI account and access to Copilot.

Workshop 1: AI Literacy & Prompting Fundamentals

What this workshop is about: Understanding how AI works and learning how to communicate with it effectively.
Date: May 13, 2026, 2-4pm

You will learn how to:

  • Understand different types of AI and how generative AI works (strengths + limits)
  • Navigate privacy, risk, and ethical considerations
  • Write clear, purposeful prompts

 You will practice:

  •  Testing different prompting strategies and comparing outputs
  • Building prompts for your own workflow (email, lesson planning, brainstorming, etc.)

 You will leave with:

  • A reusable Prompt Starter Pack (10–15 prompts) created by you and specific to your needs
  • Greater confidence using AI for everyday tasks

What this workshop is about: Using AI critically and optimizing its outputs.
Date: May 20, 2026, 2-4pm

You will learn how to:

  • Identify bias, gaps, and missing perspectives in AI outputs
  • Recognize hallucinations, fabrications, and inaccuracies using verification strategies
  • Improve quality and reliability of outputs using more advanced prompting techniques

 You will practice:

  • Analyzing AI outputs for bias and omissions
  • Intentionally provoking errors to understand why they happen
  • Writing prompts that critique, verify, and refine AI responses

 You will leave with:

  • A Bias & Accuracy Checklist
  • Prompt optimization ladders
